1 Amalfi Coast
I have to say this is one of the most beautiful places not just in Italy but all of Europe. The Amalfi Coast is situated in southern Italy a few 3-hours drive from Rome. It is just hard to believe this place exists.
One of the famous towns on the Amalfi Coast is Positano. And once you see this place in real life you will not believe it. It is hard to beat the scenery filled with colorful townhouses against the Mediterranean Sea filled with boats and yachts. If you love to drive then, I definitely recommend just driving along the whole entire shoreline and seeing all the beautiful towns.
One notable place on the coast is that the city of Atrani. It is one of the best unspoiled medieval towns on the Amalfi coast.
If you want to do adventurous activities, you can take a hike on the Path of the Gods. The Path of the Gods is a 6 Km trail that takes you above the cliffs of the coast. You will be able to see some of the most amazing views.
The best time to visit the Amalfi Coast is between May to September. You will be able to miss the summer crowds whereas still enjoying the nice and cozy weather.
Just off the coast, there is a beautiful island called Capri. To reach Capri you can take a 45-minute ferry from Naples for around €20.
